Golang Job Details

Let's start the right way:

Research has proven that men will apply for a job if they meet ~60% of the criteria. However, women and people from other untapped communities generally only apply when they meet 100%.

We don't think that should be the case. So, if you're concerned that you're not ticking all the boxes, but think you may have some transferable skills that could help you ace the role, just apply!

About Redbubble:

Redbubble was born in 2006 in Melbourne, Australia. The dream was simple. Give artists a meaningful new way to sell their creations. Today, we connect over 800k artists and designers with millions of fans across the planet.

As for us? We're passionate, imaginative, and a little offbeat. An inspired mix that's helped artists earn over $100M since launch. We're also nice, well-balanced folks with lives outside of work!

Through our marketplace, artists are able to earn from their work, enabling them to create more fabulous artwork. With over 20 million unique designs for consumers to purchase on a range of 100+ print-on-demand products from stickers to t-shirts to throw pillows. It's a treasure trove for the curious and creative.

Engineering Culture:

The way we build software is a direct reflection of our engineering culture. Our engineering culture is centred around empowerment, ownership, and excellence.

  • Engineers in our teams are empowered to make the best decisions possible, to support each other, to ask questions and manage their time efficiently.
  • The care and personal ownership engineers put into their code quality and documentation is something that we ask each individual to own.
  • Our systems are complex and carry a lot of interdependence. In order to run as intended, technical excellence is something we strive for from every team member.

The Team & Role:

We're looking for someone to join/spearhead the Loyalty Experience team as our new Senior Software Engineer. The Loyalty Experience team is cross functional, consisting of multiple engineers, a Tech Lead, Product Designer, Product Manager and Researcher and the team works on React experiences built on top of Golang and Ruby on Rails backend systems. Reporting to the Engineering manager, you will be responsible for creating experiences catered to our loyal & returning customers across various Redbubble systems.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver high-quality, tested, comprehensible & scalable changes to the Redbubble platform.
  • Take on the more complex coding tasks and act as the senior technical guide for the engineers in your team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with engineers from various teams across the company.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in a complex production environment.
  • Learn new tools, techniques or technologies to help shape new opportunities for the business.
  • Support team members through code reviews and contribute to overall technical architecture as well as direction of the team.

What you'll bring:

  • Knowledge of engineering best practices and principles to ensure high quality code
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with cross-functional members of the team.
  • Strong willingness to collaborate within the team as well as with external teams.
  • Good Experience using at least one of our most-used languages (React, Golang, Ruby on Rails) and willingness to learn new tech stack.
  • Customer centric and outcome driven team player.

Our benefits:

  • Meaningful work that allows you to contribute to a mission you believe in
  • A safe and supportive place to continue to grow and hone your craft
  • A diverse and inclusive work environment where you can connect with colleagues from around the world
  • Generous flexible work arrangements, and parental leave programs
  • An opportunity to give back through community volunteer events and corporate partnerships like Code Like a Girl

We value open-minded, open-hearted teams, who reflect a diversity of experience, identity and perspective. Our differences make us smarter, and inclusive working cultures are healthy cultures. We are working hard to sustain a culture of belonging that promotes, advances and celebrates diverse identities and voices. We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the artist and customer communities that we serve.

Bringing more creativity into the world takes all the crayons in the box, and we're excited to hear from you.
